"Moon Festival's Morning Dance" is a soft, heart filled moment cherishing and celebrating my daughter's heritage. The Chinese lantern paper sides are inscribed with the Chinese characters "moon" and "love" while the precious china plates hold the delicate moon cakes from the celebration of the Autumn Moon Festival the night before. Orange and blue butterflies dance through the morning light, blessing the celebration that occurred the night before. Painted in expressive realism with alcohol inks and luminous layers of oil, this piece celebrates the customs we pass down to our loved ones.
